The Places We'll Go captures a moment of quiet optimism between horse and rider. Paused before the journey ahead, they wait with an effortless sense of calm, sharing a partnership built on trust and understanding. The rider meets the viewer's gaze while the horse stands relaxed beside her, content and quietly confident. Together they evoke a feeling of possibility—as though every trail, every adventure and every new horizon is theirs to discover. It is this sense of hope, companionship and shared purpose that inspired Aidan to create the work. Painted with a light, joyful palette and expressive brushwork, Aidan brings warmth and personality to the scene. Soft pastels and gentle movement invite viewers to share in the happiness and quiet anticipation of the journey ahead.

Through the use of mixed media, combining acrylics, spray, enamel and intermittent use of oil paints I let my subject emerge from a rich and deeply layered base. The dimensional texture that masterfully unveils each layer, lets the bright colours play in harmony and contrast with each other.

This artwork is created on 380gsm 100% cotton canvas and finished with a double coat UV resistant, high gloss varnish to protect the integrity and longevity of the painting. Stretched and ready to hang, using gallery-grade hanging wire, this artwork is completed with a custom-crafted floating frame made from Tasmanian oak. I have signed this original painting on the front and back, with its title and date written on the rear of the canvas.
