For years I steered away from painting still life pieces, until a few years ago when I attempted painting some of our native flowers and discovered that my thick layers and sporadic brush strokes captured the deep texture found in the native Australian flora. Once that penny dropped I haven't been able to steer myself away from painting flowers, and have now painted over 50 works in this 'Should Have Bought You Flowers' series. I was waiting until I painted a still life work that for me had the perfect fusion of colour, balance and vibrancy which I'd offer as a limited edition reproduction print. That day came a few months back when creating the 44th iteration in this series. I'm now excited to be offering this native bunch in a limited series of 20 prints on archival quality cotton rag paper. The print image size is 90cm x 75cm, once framed the total size is 110cm x 95cm.

Through the use of mixed media, combining acrylics, spray, enamel and intermittent use of oil paints I let my subject emerge from a rich and deeply layered base. The dimensional texture that masterfully unveils each layer, lets the bright colours play in harmony and contrast with each other.
This artwork is created on 380gsm 100% cotton canvas and finished with a double coat UV resistant, high gloss varnish to protect the integrity and longevity of the painting. Stretched and ready to hang, using gallery-grade hanging wire, this artwork is completed with a custom-crafted floating frame made from Tasmanian oak. I have signed this original painting on the front and back, with its title and date written on the rear of the canvas.
