His Shadow Fields is a celebration of raw power, colour, and character. Bulls are subjects I am continually drawn to for their quiet confidence and commanding presence. Living on a hobby farm in West Gippsland, I am surrounded by these animals and never tire of observing how grounded and unapologetic they are. In this painting, a full-bodied bull stands front and centre with horns wide and gaze fixed. Layers of acrylic, spray paint, enamel, charcoal, and oil stick build a richly textured surface, allowing the figure to emerge through vibrant mark making. Bold red energy contrasts with softer tones, creating movement and intensity. Inspired by rural Australia, it blends abstraction and figuration into a striking contemporary statement piece.

Through the use of mixed media, combining acrylics, spray, enamel and intermittent use of oil paints I let my subject emerge from a rich and deeply layered base. The dimensional texture that masterfully unveils each layer, lets the bright colours play in harmony and contrast with each other.
This artwork is created on 380gsm 100% cotton canvas and finished with a double coat UV resistant, high gloss varnish to protect the integrity and longevity of the painting. Stretched and ready to hang, using gallery-grade hanging wire, this artwork is completed with a custom-crafted floating frame made from Tasmanian oak. I have signed this original painting on the front and back, with its title and date written on the rear of the canvas.
